Work History:

October 30th 2009 - Present: Unemployed due to recovering from road accident.
April 8th 2009 – October 30th 2009: Field Archaeologist (Finds) on the AXX road-widening project, XXXXXshire (a project organised jointly by the XXXXXX and XXXXXXX archaeology units). I was responsible for processing archaeological Roman and Prehistoric artefacts being brought to the Finds Hut, cleaning, categorising, bagging, labelling, packing into storage boxes and updating the appropriate archive registers. Also carried out some excavation work, supervised topsoil stripping and undertook archaeological Watching Briefs. Also involved in a road accident (not my fault) on 14th August, which made me fit for light duties only, from that point onwards.

December 16th 2008 - April 8th 2009: Unemployed but attended computer courses at XXXXXXX XXXXXX College, XXXXXXX.

January 2003 – December 16th 2008: Archaeological Officer (XXXXXXX Archaeological Services)
Responsible for working on my own initiative, undertaking watching briefs across the East Midlands and also working as an experienced field archaeologist with the excavation team on numerous projects, when required.

May 2000 – January 2003:
Professional Field Archaeologist (and occasionally Site Supervisor) at various excavations in the East Midlands.

October 1998 – May 2000:
Warehouseman at XXXXXXXX(XXXXXX Road,XXXXXXX) responsible for assembling orders from a Pick List and also worked in the Goods-In / Goods-Out departments. Responsible for checking stock and ensuring information was transferred onto the database. (During this period, I also spent my two days off, per week, working as a volunteer on local archaeology excavations. I was also learning to drive during this period; finally passing my driving test on the sixth attempt!)

November 1992 – October 1998:
Settled in XXXXX and became a Professional Field Archaeologist (and occasionally Site Supervisor) at various excavations in the East Midlands.

June 1990 – November 1992:

June 1985 – June 1990: Archaeological volunteer and student in the XXXXXXXshire and XXXXXXX areas.

October 1987: Left home (XXXXX) at the age of 22, to go to XXXX University.

June 1983 – June 1985: Worked as a shop assistant in a XXXXX shop (XXXXXX).

January 1983 - June 1983: Worked in a Plant Hire firm. I loaded scaffolding, cement mixers, pumps etc on / off lorries. I was also responsible for cleaning pumps, pipes, cement mixers and cabins etc.

Present Hobbies and Interests

Once every second or third month, I attend a meeting of the Society for XXXXshire History and Archaeology. I go to the pub, once per month, to meet former work colleagues. I go to computer evening classes (XXXXX college, XXXXXX) twice per week and jog / stretching exercises once or twice per day (as this helps with my muscle problems).
